Choosing to roast with us puts all of the equipment we have here at the warehouse at your disposal. This includes:
12kg Probat P12 with integrated Artisan Software for profiling. Ikawa v2 sample roaster for green coffee samples.
Green coffee analyzing tools; moisture and density reader, refractometer for whole bean and ground.
Limited Shelf Space for bags and green coffee.
Staffing for pallets received from importers as well as staff on site at all times while roasting.
Packaging and weighing tools, heat sealer, cupping room, sample batch brewer w/ 3rd wave water.

Roasting times are to be schedule a week ahead of time and are shared on a living google document.
When starting out and needing instructions and supervision, prices for roasting are $2/lb of green coffee roasted, as well a once a month membership of $100 to help maintain the staffing and facility. Once clients feel comfortable roasting on their own, the fee is lowered to $1.50/lb of green coffee roasted. There will always be someone from Xanadu at the facility while you roast, but the goal is to transition the clients to developing profiles and roasting their coffee on their own.

We understand, everyone wants to learn how to roast coffee… however, we aren’t coffee roasting instructors, those already exist, they write books, give seminars, and make lots of money doing consulting. If you want to learn how to roast, there is actually an entire blog I wrote that has all sorts of information and is how I personally learned how to roast coffee and I would suggest anyone who is interested to check it out, here.
Now then, who is the coffee roasting coop for then? Well, anyone who wants to be in control of their own coffee products AND also has some sort of business that can go through the coffee they roast. To get clients to a point where they can roast and develop their own profiles takes a significant amount of time (like… its a lot of time) so we have to be selective to a certain degree. It if for this reason that we are currently only working with clients who both have the desire to roast themselves and a current business that actually goes through product. This can be coffee shops, restaurants, mobile carts, online retail businesses, etc.
